Art After 5: Sounds of Africa

The Saint Louis Art Museum helps kick off Memorial Day Weekend and the annual St. Louis African Arts Festival with a free concert featuring music played on the mbira, a musical instrument with has traditionally been played by the Shona people of Zimbabwe for thousands of years. This performance by accomplished musician Zimbabwe Nkenya pays homage to the complex rhythms and hypnotic songs performed by the musicians of West Africa. Drinks and light fare will be available for purchase from Puck’s Restaurant. Grigg Gallery, free.
